What we collect
If you send an enquiry through this website, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the postcode of the property, what you are thinking of doing, and anything else you choose to write in the message box, including any photographs you attach.
If you ring or email us directly, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, arrange a site visit, and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work and deal with the council on your behalf. That is the only reason. We do not build marketing lists and we do not send newsletters.
The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has asked us to, and, once you instruct us, the performance of our contract with you.
Who sees it
Chris and Jill Sinkinson. Enquiries submitted through the website form are delivered to us by Formspree, which processes the submission on our behalf and passes it to our email. If your project goes ahead, the relevant parts of your information are shared with the local planning authority, building control, and any structural engineer or surveyor the job needs. We never sell your information and we never pass it to anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within two years. Project records are kept for fifteen years after completion, because drawings and approvals are sometimes needed long after the job is finished, for example when a property is sold.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email cnsinkinson@gmail.com and we will deal with it within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
